Spring 2014 Anthro Wish List

Anthropologie is probably the store I get the most giddy to stroll through when I get the chance to go to the mall.  Touching all the soft fabrics, smelling the nostalgic Volcano candles and scouring the sale section for that perfect deal.  And while I rarely take home anything that isn’t from the sale section, it doesn’t stop me from making my wish list.  Here are the Antrho goodies that I’m coveting from the Spring 2014 collection (you’ll note there’s a jacket phase I’m going through):

imgThis jacket is vegan, which is pretty rad.  And it seems like the perfect, timeless coat.  I’m obsessed. Also, it has a ruffle in the back! Shop here, it’s almost sold out.
img-8I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect little black coat.  Loving this one, especially the collar.  Pretty please, share links to your perfect leather coat finds–I’m ready to commit to one. Shop here. img-5Chambray AND a jacket.  I can think of nothing more glorious.  I tried it on in the store, and it’s just as fabulous as I knew it would be. Shop here. img-1The only thing stopping me from buying these cargos is the fear that I might be compelled to wear them every day of my life–they are soooooo soft.  Shop here. img-2On a whim I decided to try these floral pants on and I was so surprised by how much I loved them.  Its the only time this style of pants has not made me look 10 pounds heavier.  They are a super flattering cut and they make it to the top of my Spring wardrobe wish list. Shop here. img-3Classic, cotton tunic with LACE–enough said.  My girlfriend tried it on and it fit fabulously! Shop here. img-9I’m drawn to this tunic.  The universe wants me to own it.  And because I’m a shorty I know I can count on it being longer than it is on the model. Shop here. img-4These boots.  The perfect way to wear booties in the Spring.  The color, the holes, the slit–just perfect. Shop hereimg-6I’m a fan of a good ol’ rancher hat.  Love that this classic brown one is such a reasonable price.  The perfect everyday hat. Shop here. img-7Another reasonably priced accessory–these glasses add some vintage flair to a wardrobe.  Shop here.

Cover Ups and Trucker Hats

81-4-Screen Shot 2014-02-04 at 12.38.18 AM billabong-cali_fun_trucker-hat-chrMy absolute favorite everyday hat.  Billabong makes a great trucker hat for women because it isn’t too bulky but still has that tom boy look and feel. Found here.

I lived in this crochet beach cover up on our Hawaii trip.  Soft, versatile and classic.
I got it from Aerie, and you can almost always find a coupon in stores or online.

hawaii 34 Screen Shot 2014-02-26 at 12.12.30 PMAlso from Aerie, here.  I loved this cover up as well because the front pieces were long enough to tie in a knot and because the piece is versatile enough to mix with my everyday wardrobe long after vacation ends.

Trader Joe’s TOP 5

I always tease Ben that if we ever had to move to a new city, so long as that city had a Trader Joe’s I would be happy.  It really is one of those stores I can’t live without.  Here are my current top 5 foods from TJ’s. Pretty please add yours to the list so that I can try some new yummies.  Also, I would love if you have any great TJ recipes.

1. Joe’s Dinner Mac ‘n Cheese, in the frozen section. Quite possibly the best mac n’ cheese that I have ever had–and that includes homemade.  I have even been known to microwave a couple packages, toss them in a casserole dish, throw some extra cheese on top and serve as an entree to guests.
2. These raisin rosemary crisps are addicting. They pair perfectly with goat cheese and a simple balsamic glaze.  Give them a try. You’ll be surprised, I promise!
3. A go-to dinner around our house is homemade pizza.  The TJ’s pizza dough is fantastic! And it makes the pizza making process quick and easy. Also, I prefer the refrigerated pizza sauce found at TJ’s as opposed to their jarred sauce.
4. You will always find a package of this naan in our freezer. It tastes amazing as a pizza crust. But my favorite is putting it underneath a delicious arugula and goat cheese salad or a vegetable salad. It’s also great to dip in hummus.
5. You know what…don’t even try this cookie butter. You’ll just be mad at me. Because it’s THAT good and you’ll never want to stop eating it. On crackers, on ice cream, on toast, on anything!

What We’re Reading: Pete the Cat

Wesley received this book as a gift a few weeks ago and we can’t get enough.  It’s a sweet story about a cat whose new white shoes keep getting dirty. But rather than get upset, he stays calm and keeps walking on.  It’s a great book for young kids that get worked up easily when things don’t go as planned.  The best part–it comes with a free audio download of the book with a special song to go along.  We read/sing this book a couple times a day and I believe it’s helping teach the boys simple self-regulation techniques.  I haven’t read any of the other books from the series, but I imagine they are fantastic as well.

petethecat For those who asked, my boots are from Target.

Around My Neck

I think handmade necklaces make some of the best gifts–and these are a handful of my favorites.

Fall Boots for Shorties

Two things about me:
I barely hit 5 feet tall–on a good day.
And I LOVE boots.

The problem is that most boots only succeed in making me look even shorter than I already am. So you can imagine my excitement over the new craze for ankle boots.  Now I can wear boots without cutting off any length in my legs. I own some of the affordable boots below and I’m swooning over the others.

I own #4 and #5 above (both from Target) and I wear them all.the.time.
And this next group–well, these boots are on my wish list.

As far as tall boots go, I love these ones  because of the concealed heal.

Rest Your Head: Pillows to Love

I feel like pillows are the perfect way to transform the entire look and feel of your decor without redecorating your entire house.  I keep my pillows in bins by seasons and I switch them out when the new season arrives. I’m also a big fan of handmade, unique pillows that can’t be found just anywhere. Here are a few of the pillows I have been swooning over.
